Mesurer son pied sur une feuille avec une règle pour trouver sa pointure

How to measure your foot and find your shoe size in 2 minutes (cm to EU size chart)

Ordering online and torn between two sizes? The most reliable method is to measure your foot in centimetres, then convert. You need a sheet of paper, a pencil, a tape measure or ruler, and two minutes.

The essentials

  • Measure at the end of the day, standing, both feet: keep the larger measurement.
  • Length runs from the heel to the longest toe, which isn't always the big toe.
  • At Breya, our styles are true to size; if in doubt, go up one size for extra comfort.
  • Size exchanges are free, and you have 60 days to change your mind.

The 4-step method

  1. Place a sheet of white paper against a wall, on a hard floor (not on a rug).
  2. Stand on it, heel against the wall, weight evenly spread. Wear the socks you'll wear with the shoes.
  3. Mark the tip of your longest toe with a pencil held straight up. Ask for help if you can: leaning over skews the measurement.
  4. Measure from the wall to the mark, in centimetres. Repeat with the other foot and keep the larger figure.

5 mistakes that give the wrong size

1. Measuring in the morning

Feet swell slightly over the day. A morning measurement can lead you to a half size too small.

2. Measuring sitting down

Seated, your foot doesn't carry your body weight and spreads less. Always measure standing.

3. Measuring only one foot

It's very common to have one foot longer than the other. The larger one decides.

4. Forgetting socks

If you wear your slippers with thick socks, measure with them on. For the right socks, see clogs and socks: how to wear them.

5. Relying on one brand

Shoe sizes aren't universal: they vary between brands and styles. Centimetres don't lie.

What about foot width?

If you have wide feet or a high instep, length isn't enough. Go for adjustable styles such as the Sienna clog with adjustable buckle (36 to 47) or the Bormio fur-lined clog (35 to 45), and slippers that ease slightly like the Merano slipper. Our full selection: shoes for wide feet.

Sizes available by style

  • Sienna clog and Ravello sandal: 36 to 47
  • Bormio fur-lined clog: 35 to 45
  • Merano slipper and Alba outdoor slipper: 36 to 45
  • Cortina fleece-lined booties: 35 to 44

Frequently asked questions

I'm between two sizes, which should I take?

Go up one size for extra comfort, especially for fur-lined slippers or if you wear them with socks.

Should I size up for fur-lined slippers?

Not automatically: our styles are true to size. Sizing up is only recommended if you're unsure or have wide feet.

Size exchanges are free, and you have 60 days to change your mind. A real person answers if you have a question before ordering.
